Giles Deacon new Head Designer of Ungaro

The cat is finally out of the bag. New head designer of fashion house Ungaro is Giles Deacon.

Sorry Lindsay Lohan, you didn’t quite cut the mustard. Fashion Designer Giles Deacon, 40, is the new darling of the established French fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. Deacon is a Central Saint Martins graduate and launched his own label in 2003/2004, after working for Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Gucci and Bottega Veneta. He has also had collaborations with Mulberry, the high-steet chain New Look, Top Shop, John Lewis and charity chain Oxfam.

Beautiful dresses with Pac-man helmets, a fun mix which creates fashion headlines.

Giles is known for his play with pop cultural icons like Pac-man and Mickey Mouse, whilst still managing to keep «The Pretty» floaty and feminine – a signature of the Ungaro house. Giles Deacon has won several designer awards, and was woted Fashion Designer of the Year in 2006. He will present his first show for Emanuel Ungaro’s S/S 2011 collection in Paris in October.
